Data Work Innovators Unite – Cloud1 Acquires Devisioona Oy

Cloud1 aims to become the leading Microsoft ecosystem services company in the Nordic countries. Its growth strategy is accelerated by acquisitions in Finland and abroad, supported by the private equity investment company Voland Partners.

Data management company Cloud1 acquires the majority of Devisioona Oy, a software development and AI solutions company.

Founded in 2015, Devisioona employs 30 employees. The company's revenue was approximately EUR 2.6 million last year.

Cloud1 specialises in data platforms built on Microsoft's Azure cloud technology. With the acquisition, the company will gain new expertise, especially in user interface and software development, integration and interface solutions, as well as with generative AI implementations.

"Devisioona and Cloud1 have been pioneers in their respective areas of expertise as development partners of the renewed Microsoft technology. The founders also have the ability and courage to question and show how one may transform the IT industry to genuinely emphasise customer value,” says Cloud1's Chair of the Board Seppo Kuula, who led the strategic transformation.

Jouni Heikniemi, the founder and CEO of Devisioona, is one of the world's 200 Microsoft Regional Directors. Last autumn, he was awarded Microsoft Influencer of the Year for his work on Azure Cloud and AI.

“The end-to-end entity that is now forming is quite rare in the Microsoft ecosystem. Our competitive advantage is also increased by the fact that both companies have renewed the way they do IT consulting and have thus been able to develop their services directly at the core of the customer's business," says Heikniemi.

After the acquisitions, Cloud1 will be able to respond to the rapidly growing customer demand, focusing on knowledge and its transfer to the customer's organisation rather than on technology.

“In this service work, Cloud1 has been a pioneer in the design, construction and maintenance of Microsoft Azure and Power Platform technologies in particular. Devisioona, on the other hand, is a leading company in interface and integration solutions and in the development of traditional and new user interfaces based on artificial intelligence. These directly impact the rapidly growing customer demand accelerated by the artificial intelligence wave," says Kuula.

Cloud1 is now investing in Fabric, a data management platform recently launched by Microsoft.

A platform change like Fabric also requires a new kind of thinking from the IT consultant, which fits directly into the business of Cloud1 and Devisioona.

"For example, reaping the benefits of Fabric requires an in-depth overall view of the organisation's business, structures and expertise. This is where we can help our customers so that they can also get business results from their IT investment," Heikniemi says.

Upcoming acquisitions

Acquisitions are an integral part of Cloud1's new growth strategy, which aims to develop Cloud1 into the leading Microsoft ecosystem data management service company in the Nordic countries.

Through acquisitions, the company will become a comprehensive Microsoft ecosystem data management company in the Nordic countries.

To finance the deals, the private equity company Voland Partners –which previously invested in Cloud1– will make an additional investment in the company.

There are a few acquisitions already under consideration.

"We are studying a few interesting acquisitions in Finland and abroad. Negotiations may yield results later this year," says Kuula.
